Newburyport Arrest Suspect, Shelter-In-Place Lifted

Police were searching for a teen who fled police earlier in the day.

NEWBURYPORT, MA — A shelter-in-place has been lifted after police arrested the teen suspect who fled after officers attempted to serve a warrant.

Jose Ilarraza, 19, most recently of Amesbury, was arrested on charges of breaking and entering into a building in the daytime, trespassing, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and on a Department of Youth Services warrant.

There was a shelter-in-place in the Port Plaza area as police searched for a 19-year-old suspect they believe to be armed. The suspect fled from police earlier while they were serving an arrest warrant, after he spotted police at the shopping center.
