North Shore Man Arrested On I-495 Had Fentanyl, Oxy: Police
The man was pulled over for a broken plate light, arrested for an outstanding warrant, and charged for allegedly having drugs.

MERRIMAC, MA — A traffic stop on I-495 early Wednesday morning resulted in the arrest of a Merrimac man who had an outstanding warrant - and allegedly some drugs.
Around 2:40 a.m., a State Trooper pulled over a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta that had a plate light out. The driver, James Whitmyer, 51, had an outstanding warrant for fentanyl possession. Whitmyer, who allegedly had $1,900 on him, was arrested.
A search of his vehicle resulted in more than 20 grams of what is thought to be fentanyl and three pills believed to be Oxycodone, police said.

Whitmyer was charged with trafficking in fentanyl, conspiracy to violate the drug laws, and possession of a Class B substance. He was also cited for a plate light violation.
