PC At Pre-K: No 'Best Friends' At This Preschool
One parent is threatening to take her child to another preschool because of the school's position against using the phrase 'best friend.'

GEORGETOWN, MA — There are dozens of words and phrases never to be uttered in a preschool classroom. In one Georgetown school, add "best friend" to the list.
Pentucket Workshop Preschool is discouraging the term because it can make other children feel left out, one parent said the school told her.
The term "can lead other children to feel excluded," the school wrote to Christine Hartwell in a letter, according to The Boston Globe and WBZ. The school instead "encourage[s] children to have a broader group of friends, and foster inclusion at this particular age," the letter said.
