PIE IN THE SKY FACTS
Thanksgiving…. and pie. They just naturally go together. Now you can have your Thanksgiving pie and help many in need eat for a week.

WHO: Pie in the Sky is Community Servings’ annual Thanksgiving bake sale which helps fund meals and nutrition programs for the critically‐ill.
WHAT: Now in it’s 22nd year, Pie In The Sky involves more than 150 of Boston’s best chefs and thousands of volunteers donating their time, talent and resources to bake and sell the freshest and finest Thanksgiving pies. 12,000 people bought pies last year, raising over $640,000 for Community Servings and providing tens of thousands of meals to their critically ill clients.
HOW: From October through Thanksgiving, sellers promote and sell pies to their friends, families, co‐workers, and neighbors. Over the course of the sale, more than 18,000 apple, pecan, pumpkin, sweet potato and Pie Deluxe pies will be ordered, donated, baked, picked‐up, quality checked, and delivered to over 100 distribution points in Greater Boston.

Each pie is just $28, an amount which provides an entire week’s worth of nutritious home‐delivered meals to a person who is too ill to shop or cook for themselves. Pies can be ordered by visiting my Pie In The Sky page, and can be picked up on Wednesday, November 26, at over 100 locations across Massachusetts.
WHY: Community Servings provides free, nutritious, home‐delivered meals to individuals and families battling HIV/AIDS, Cancer, Lupus, MS and other acute, life‐threatening illnesses. We serve 1,525 clients a year in 18 cities throughout Massachusetts. We provide our clients, their dependent families, and their caregivers with appealing, nutritious meals, reaching out to those in greatest need: 92% of our clients are living in poverty.
