Plane Ends Up In Woods In Landing Attempt At Plum Island Airport
The pilot and sole occupant escaped injury.

NEWBURY, MA — A small plane landing at Plum Island Airport ended up in the woods early Wednesday afternoon. The pilot and sole occupant was able to escape the aircraft before it came to a stop and was uninjured.
Firefighters responded to the crash around 12:38 p.m. They arrived to find a single-engine AMD Alarus CH2000 in the woods. The aircraft, tail number N239AM, is registered to Bald Eagle Flying Club, of Yarmouth, Maine.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
