Nagy shot Beverly Police Officer twice outside the Starbucks in North Beverly last Friday before returning to the scene about five hours later and taking his own life.

Lantych is recovering and an investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to the Essex County District Attorney's office.

Nagy has - including his wife and two sons - and was a skilled investigator and fair police officer.
