Weekend Performances of 'Urinetown" To Bring Laughs

Hamilton Wenham Regional High School will perform "Urinetown," a three-time Tony award winning Broadway production, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the Ferrini auditorium.

The final touches on the three-time Tony award winning Broadway production “Urinetown” are underway at .

Three performances starting Thursday, Nov. 3 at 6:30 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. will be sure to bring laughs.

This musical satirical comedy pokes fun at municipal politics, the legal system and populism, among other central themes — all germinating from a water shortage that provokes hilarious regulations of the public urinals including paying for the privilege of use. Townspeople who fail to follow the rules are relegated as outcasts to a place called Urinetown. The oppressed masses gather to protest at one of the poorest public urinals.
