Violent Crime, Property Crimes Reports Holding Level in Hamilton

The number of violent crimes and property crimes have held relatively steady in recent years in Hamilton, and the number of burglaries in 2012 was lower than 2010. Theft and car theft increased slightly from 2010 to 2012.

The data comes from the FBI's annual Uniform Crime Report, which includes information submitted by local law enforcement agencies. The information is compiled and released to the public in the fall of the year that follows the reported year. Violent crime, as defined by the report, includes murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault.
