Wenham DPW Lists Snow Removal Priorities
Wondering when you'll see pavement again? Well, it depends.

First things first: The Wenham Department of Public Works has requested patience.
The department is working to ”make all streets passable and safe,” but it’s taking time and there is a method to the madness.
According to a post on the Town of Wenham website, “Due to the unprecedented amount of snow we have received this year the Department of Public Works wanted to be clear on what the priorities are when it comes to snow removal.”

Those priorities are:
- Widening roads and clearing sight lines so people can see to pull out.
- Clearing fire hydrants (“Special Thank you to all the residents that have dug out the ones on their streets”).
- Sidewalks, with downtown and Buker School having top priority among the 25 miles of sidewalks in town.
- Mailbox damage. “If your mailbox has been hit as a result of snow plowing by a town vehicle and you can see the post, the town will re-attach it. If you cannot see the post or there is too much damage, the DPW will address it in the Spring once the snow has melted.”
