Free Snow Shoveling!! Witnessed Wenham Highway Department of Public Works employees shoveling out Wenham resident's lawn.

On Friday afternoon, while traveling down route 1A in Wenham I noticed a Wenham Highway vehicle on the corner of Larch Row and Main Street. I was blown away to see that the Highway employees were shoveling out the Wenham resident’s lawn. I pulled up to get a closer look, thinking that they might have been shoveling the sidewalk, but was shocked when I saw them shoveling the snow from the residence property onto the street. I stopped to ask what was going on and was told that they were moving the snow that the sidewalk snow blower blew onto the residence lawn.
What really enraged me was the fact that someone had the audacity to call the town and demand to have this snow removed, after these highway employees have been working endless hours to keep the Wenham streets clear. This winter blizzard dumped 30”+ of snow in the Hamilton-Wenham area making it extremely challenging to keep the roads wide enough to keep open. Not to mention the fact that the sidewalks need to be clear for the children to make it to and from school safely. There are limited places to put this large amount of snow and cannot believe that this was a priority. Shame on whoever told these employees to go shovel a residence yard!!!
I hope that the town residents will read this and support the hard working town employees that they have working for them. I do not understand why the resident could not have done this shoveling themselves, if it is that much of a concern.
