Wenham Synchronized Swimmer Named Swimmer of the Month
A synchronized swimmer from Wenham has been named the USA Synchro March Swimmer of the Month.

Erin Walker from Wenham has been named the March Swimmer of the Month by USA Synchro.
Walker, 18, is captain of the North Shore YMCA Selkies synchronized swim team and a senior at .
"Erin is passionate about synchronized swimming and is always the first swimmer in the pool and the last one to leave; She is committed to her team and exemplifies the type of athlete that any coach dreams of working with,” her coach, Rita Gillan, said in a written announcement of the award issued last week. “Though she began synchronized swimming much later than most of her teammates, Erin has excelled due to her relentless determination and work ethic while maintaining positivity and enthusiasm which is contagious.”

In addition to her duties as team captain, Walker coaches the "Intro to Synchro" program at the North Shore YMCA.
She maintains a 3.7 GPA while taking college prep, honors and advanced placement courses and when she isn't at school or swimming, Walker can be found volunteering at youth programs or preparing food for families in need through her church.

At school, she helped lead her high school swim team to state sectionals and is active in school clubs.
Walker will receive a $50 gift certificate from SwimOutlet.com as a congratulations for the award.
