The Hamilton Wenham School Committee was presented with a new class-size policy at their regular meeting on January 22, 2015. A copy of the proposed policy was posted on-line under the School Committee Meeting Handouts at www.hwschools.net.
The new policy removes any expectations of the number of students assigned to classes. Instead the new policy states the class-size will be set at a level that is the most efficient for pupil and student given available space and other educational considerations.
Two School Committee members questioned the lack of stated numbers and asked there be additional input on the policy by the public. Interested parents or community members were encouraged to attend the next policy meeting on Tuesday, Feburary 3 at 6:30pm in the School Administration Building at 5 School Street in Wenham.
