White Box Truck Almost Hits Bicyclist and Other Police Activity

The following activity for the Wenham Police and Fire Department comes from the Essex County Regional Emergency Communication Center log for Wenham on Saturday and Sunday, July 13 and July 14.
Saturday, July 13
- Two people near Wenham Lake on Cedar Street were told there was no trespassing in the area and were sent on their way at 1:37 a.m.
- A caller reported that a vehicle almost hit another vehicle and was driving “extremely poor” near Main and Monuments streets at 11:25 a.m. An officer drove behind the vehicle and monitored its driving.
- A car stop was conducted on a vehicle on Larch Row that had been reportedly driving erratically at 11:36 a.m. It was a farm worker who was being followed by his boss on a tractor. He was told to keep his eyes on the road.
- A Main Drive resident called 911 to report that a neighbor was in his yard screaming at 11:38 a.m. Police arrived and told the neighbor to calm down and stay inside.
- A man was arrested after a car stop on Maple Street at 11:56 a.m. The driver was arrested for driving with a revoked license. There was an Interlock device in the vehicle and it was towed.
- An anonymous caller reported than another vehicle almost ran them off the road while trying to pass them on Main Street at 5:30 p.m. The caller provided the other vehicle’s license plate.
- A vehicle was stopped on Main Street at 11:57 p.m. because the registered owner of the vehicle had an expired license. No action was taken.

- A car stop was conducted on Main Street at 12:37 a.m.
- A Porter Street resident called 911 to report that he received a suspicious phone call on his cell phone from someone who knew his name at 1:14 a.m. He wanted to speak to an officer about it.
- A verbal warning for an inspection sticker was issued after a car stop on Main Street at 2:14 a.m.
- A traffic stop was conducted on Main Street at 6:06 a.m.
- A Grapevine Road resident reported at 7:29 a.m. that it appeared that her mailbox had been intentionally knocked over.
- A car was stopped on Walnut Road as part of selective enforcement at 9:23 a.m.
- A disturbance was reported at a Main Drive address at 12:30 p.m. It was the same address where a similar incident occurred a day earlier. It was a behavioral issue with one of the residents.
- The alarm at the Wenham Tea House was accidentally set off by someone who works there at 7:25 pm.
- A fire alarm was activated at a Larch Row address. The homeowner then called to say that there was no emergency and the ladder truck continued to check it out.
- Somebody called 911 at 9:03 p.m. to report that a white Chevrolet box truck was all over the road on Topsfield Road and almost struck a bike rider. Police checked the area but the truck was gone.
