Abby Alexanian from Gloucester will speak on Sunday, October 25 about her soon-to-be released film, Journey to Armenia: Three Generations from Genocide. Abby, who earned her Bachelor’s degree from Vassar College, is completing a Master’s degree at the Heller School at Brandeis University. While working in social service, Abby embarked on a personal journey to discover her Armenian heritage. She and her father, renowned photographer Nubar Alexanian, traveled to her great grandfather’s Armenian village in Eastern Turkey that was decimated during the Genocide. They then began to create a film documenting their family history of silence, pain, discovery, and understanding. Abby, with her father, will discuss the film and show portions of it.
The event is free and open to the public.
