The Academy of The Company Theatre to Hold Auditions for Honk Jr.

Theater auditions for young actors ages 7 to 13 in Norwell

The Academy of The Company Theatre (ACT) announces auditions for young actors ages 7 to 13 for their upcoming production of the youth musical Honk Jr. on Wednesday, September 9 and Thursday, September 10, from 3:45 to 6:00 pm at The Company Theatre Centre for the Performing Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell. Attendance is required at both days of auditions. The first day of auditions is spent learning song selection, movement and a script reading for their audition. A headshot is helpful but not required. Not all candidates who audition will necessarily be cast. There is a $10 fee to audition, applicable to tuition if cast.

Classes rehearsing the production are held from 3:45 to 5:45 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays during the production season, beginning September 14. Tuition for the classes and production is $350 per student. Some financial assistance is available. Tuition is due following the casting announcement. A completed emergency form must accompany audition candidates, available upon arrival.

Honk Jr. has winged its way around the world in over 8000 productions. This heart-warming celebration of being different is full of sparkling wit. A duck named Ugly looks quite a bit different from his darling duckling brothers and sisters. Other animals on the farm are quick to notice and point this out, despite his mother’s protective flapping. Feeling rather foul about himself, the little fowl finds himself on adventure of self-discovery, all the while unknowingly outwitting a very hungry Cat. Along the way Ugly meets a whole flock of unique characters and finds out being different is not a bad thing to be!
