The Academy of The Company Theatre Teen Conservatory Presents Hair

Unique high energy stage phenomenon comes to Norwell stage

The Academy of The Company Theatre (ACT) presents the iconic musical Hair from January 22 through 24 at The Company Theatre Center for the Performing Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell. Hair book and lyrics are by Gerome Ragni and James Rado, music by Galt MacDermot. The production is codirected by Jordie Saucerman and Zoe Bradford with choreography by Sally Forrest and music direction by Michael Joseph.

Known as America’s tribal love-rock musical, Hair is a unique high energy stage phenomenon. The large cast is infused with freedom and an idealistic vision, gathered together to tell the story of 1960’s America. Phenomenal musical numbers include “Aquarius”, “Good Morning Starshine”, “I Believe in Love”, “I Got Life”, “What a Piece of Work Is Man” and the title song “Hair”. Pure joy, exuberance and vitality are at the heart of this now classic piece, set against the serious backdrop of the Vietnam War and a country in turmoil. Hair allows the audience to relive or newly discover the age of Aquarius. Some material has been edited to suit this advanced student production.

ACT was founded in 1987 by Zoe Bradford, Michael Joseph and Jordie Saucerman, with a mission to discover the creative spirit in each child in an enjoyable and challenging atmosphere and to build self-confidence through the experience of the arts.
