The Academy of The Company Theatre Teen Conservatory Presents Oklahoma!

South Shore Teen Cast Presents American Theatre Classic

The Academy of The Company Theatre (ACT) Teen Conservatory presents Rodgers & Hammerstein’s musical classic Oklahoma! on Friday, January 23 and Saturday, January 24 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, January 25 at 3:00 pm, at The Company Theatre Center for the Performing Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell. The production is directed by Jordie Saucerman with choreography by Sally Forrest and music direction by Michael Joseph.

Teen Conservatory students from across the South Shore star in this American theatre classic. Oklahoma! sets the standard for musical theatre, with a high-spirited rivalry between turn of the century local farmers and cowboys providing a colorful background for a love story between Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl. These two headstrong romantics find rough travels on their love’s journey as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road, followed close by the watchful eye of Aunt Eller and friendly bumpkin Ado Annie. Their new life together begins in a brand-new state, providing beloved musical theatre songs including “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’”, “I Cain’t Say No” and “The Surrey With the Fringe on Top”, lead to the ultimate climax to the triumphant title number, “Oklahoma!”

ACT was founded in 1987 by Zoe Bradford, Michael Joseph and Jordie Saucerman, with a mission to discover the creative spirit in each child in an enjoyable and challenging atmosphere and to build self-confidence through the experience of the arts.
