Beloved MA Donut Shop Charts South Shore Expansion

HINGHAM, MA — A beloved donut shop in Boston is making its way to the South Shore.

Union Square Donuts is opening a new location at the Derby Street Shops in Hingham later this summer. The Somerville-based business, founded in 2012, is best known for its homemade donuts with fun flavor combinations and crafted coffee menu.

Located at 94 Derby St., the donut spot will offer the brand’s signature mix of flavors, including Union Square Donuts’ iconic Brown Butter Hazelnut Crunch, Honey Glazed, Sea Salt Bourbon Caramel, and Boston Cream, along with limited-run offerings and a variety of vegan options.

Union Square Donuts also operates eight other locations in Massachusetts, with stores in Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Somerville and Lynnfield.

“We’ve always focused on doing things the right way—making everything from scratch and not cutting corners,” said Josh Danoff, Co-Founder of Union Square Donuts. "Bringing that to Derby Street is an exciting next step for us."

Derby Street's outdoor shopping destination is also home to Whole Foods Market, Apple, Polkadog Bakery, The Paper Store, Sephora, J.Crew, lululemon, Barnes & Noble, REI, Crate & Barrel, Warby Parker and Williams-Sonoma.

It's not yet clear when Union Square Donuts will open, but the business said more details, including grand opening plans and exclusive Derby Street offerings, will be announced in the coming months.

This comes less than a month after a popular retailer announced its plans to open at Derby Street.Aritzia is set to open a new boutique there, marking the brand's first location in the South Shore.
