Barney Frank to Speak in Hingham Tonight

Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank will speak at the Glastonbury Abbey Institute tonight at 7:15 p.m. and guests are encouraged to arrive early to secure a seat.

The longtime U.S. Representative for Massachusetts's 4th congressional district will be the keynote presenter for the lecture, “Listening to Other Voices.”

The Benedictine Monks of Glastonbury Abbey offer this yearly lecture series as part of their ongoing commitment to inter-religious dialogue, , Hayes Shea, Glastonbury Abbey Director of Mission Advancement said in a press release.

Congressman Frank’s topic will be “Social Responsibility v. the Deficit: The Budget and the Common Good.”

Congressman Frank is a well-known and provocative speaker.  Elected to Congress in 1980, Congressman Frank has worked on issues involving social justice and economic redress for those most marginalized in society.
