4 Questions to Ask Before Your Next Speech or Presentation (to boost success!)
Stacey Shipman shares 4 questions to ask before your next speech/presentation to boost success.

Each week at the Hanover Toastmasters, one member shares a public speaking tip - an opportunity for the group to learn something new about improving their speaking and presentation skills.
I'm a big believer in self-inquiry. That is, instead of seeking out answers from someone else, you ask questions and get the answers from yourself. So when Hanover Toastmasters member Connie White presented her tip in the form of four questions, I loved it!
Connie didn't make up these questions, credit goes to Darron LaCroix, a professional speaker and the 2001 Toastmasters World Champion of Public Speaking.

Before you step in front of the group to give your next presentation, consider the following questions. You might find you enjoy greater success when you do.
- What is my intent with this presentation?
- Am I present? (I other words, are you worried about what might happen or fretting about what happened in the past? Or are you right here, right now?)
- Am I having fun? (Note: depending on your speech, fun may or may not be appropriate. For many of us, it is appropriate. You might also ask “Am I relaxed”)
- How would I present this speech if I knew this would be my last speech ever. (Would you give it your all and not hold back?)
Some of my best presentations happen when I allow myself to relax and have fun.

Your turn: What do you think? Are these questions helpful in your quest to become a more confident presenter? What questions would you add or do you ask yourself?
