(Cohasset, MA) – The Cohasset Yacht Club is proud to announce that it will host the National Championship Regatta for the International 210 Class of racing sailboats.

Sailors and boats from across the country will gather in Cohasset this summer to compete for the coveted C. Raymond Hunt Trophy which goes to the winner of The National Championship in this highly competitive class of sailboats.  The 5-day event will feature some exceptional racing and will bring more than 100 sailors and their families to Cohasset.

Cohasset Yacht Club 210 Fleet Captain Anthony Everett said, “We are thrilled to host this event and to showcase such fine sailing in our community.  Cohasset offers exceptional open water sailing just outside our harbor.  It has long been a favorite venue for racers, and also offers easy access for spectator boats looking to get up close to the action.”

About the International 210: The International 210 is a 30' one-design racing sloop.  It was designed by legendary sailor and yacht designer C. Raymond Hunt in 1945 to meet interclub racing needs in Massachusetts Bay. Fast, responsive, and perfectly balanced, it makes for exciting racing for sailors and spectators alike. Its long racing history is testament to its exceptional design.

About the Cohasset Yacht Club: One of the oldest yacht clubs in the United States, we continue to be guided by our founding principle, “To encourage yachting through the promotion of good fellowship among those interested in sailing, seamanship and enjoyment of the ocean and its environment.” Cohasset’s strong sailing tradition and the town’s unique location on the coast of Massachusetts make it an ideal setting for competitive and pleasure boating.
