Sen. Scott Brown, R-MA: Brown is running against Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren for the Senate seat formerly held by Ted Kennedy. The first-term lawmaker , to sign copies of his book, "Against All Odds."

State Sen. Bob Hedlund, R-Weymouth: Hedlund is a nine-term incumbent senator of the Plymouth Norfolk District, which includes Weymouth, Cohasset, Duxbury, Hingham, Hull, Marshfield, Norwell and Scituate.  In November, Hedlund will face either Genevieve Davis of Norwell or Steve May of Hull, who will run against each other in the Democrats’ September primary. Recently in Hingham, Hedlund 's threats to eliminate the commuter boat service to Boston. Hedlund has strong Hingham roots.

Genevieve Davis:  The Norwell Democrat is looking to challenge Hedlund in the State Senate race. Davis is a financial consultant who will first have to square off against May in the Democrats’ September primary. Recently, Davis greeted voter's at Hingham's Town Meeting in April.

Steve May: The Hull Democrat is the president of the Forum On Genetic Equity, an advocacy group for patient privacy rights.  May is also looking to challenge Hedlund in the State Senate race. Before that he must challenge Davis in the Democrats’ September primary.  Recently, May has held where voters were welcomed to ask him questions.

Rep. Stephen Lynch, D-MA: Lynch is running for his sixth term, now in the new 8th Congresssional District. He does not face a primary challenger, but Republicans Boston businessman Joe Selvaggi and Iraq war veteran Matias Temperley are contending for the seat. Lynch has visited Hingham a few weeks ago to greet residents at the
