Burglar Steals Booze From Hingham Home
Two homes in one neighborhood were broken into on Thursday.
Hingham police are still investigating a break in last week in which the suspect only stole alcohol and left behind valuables.
Police said the unknown suspect entered the Smith Way residence between 8 p.m. Thursday and 10:44 a.m. Friday and took 8-10 cans of beer, three bottles of rum, and a bottle of gin. Valuables that were in sight were not stolen.
The suspect entered the home by smashing the rear French doors and reaching inside and unlocking the door, police said.

Neighbors called the police on Friday morning just after 11 a.m. when they noticed the air conditioner was hanging by its cord and resting on the shrubs.
“The residents were not home and what items that may have been stolen has not yet been determined,” Hingham Police said in a written statement. “This time frame is not clear as to when this break occurred but due to the proximity to the other break its probably similar.”
The last time alcohol was stolen from a Hingham home was just last November in the same neighborhood on Golf View Road. Police have not said the break-ins are related.
