Dharma Dreams Vocational Center

Dharma Dreams Vocational Center is a nonprofit vocational and life skills program based in Hanover, Massachusetts, serving young adults ages 18–26 with moderate cognitive disabilities. Our mission is to help students build practical job skills in the trades, confidence, independence, emotional regulation, and workplace readiness through hands-on vocational training and supportive learning experiences. The program was created in response to the growing need for meaningful transition opportunities for young adults as they move beyond high school and into adulthood. Many families struggle to find programs that combine practical workforce preparation, life skills development, communication skills, confidence-building, and supportive real-world learning experiences. Dharma Dreams offers hands-on exposure to vocational areas such as landscaping and grounds maintenance, painting and surface preparation, workplace professionalism, entrepreneurship basics, and life skills training. Students also learn mind-body techniques that support focus, confidence, emotional regulation, stress management, and workplace success. Our introductory summer program, launching at the end of July, is designed to help students and families become familiar with the program and explore vocational interests before participating in longer-term programming. Long-term programming focuses on helping students develop greater independence, workplace readiness, responsibility, confidence, and practical trade skills through structured, hands-on learning experiences. Dharma Dreams Vocational Center aims to create supportive pathways toward greater independence, meaningful employment opportunities, and a stronger sense of purpose while helping young adults feel valued, capable, and connected to their future potential.

With the within the Hingham Police Department there are some vacancies to be filled. requested that two Provisional Lieutenants and two Temporary Sergeants be appointed to fill these gaps. At Tuesday's Selectman meeting, Hingham Police Chief Michael Peraino recommended that Sergeants Darren McAdams and David Hort be promoted to the rank of Provisional Lieutenant and Officers Ryan O'Shea and Tom Ford assume the duties of Police Sergeants.  The Selectmen agreed to these appointments,  subject to all necessary police exams being completed by the individuals concerned. There have been many new changes in the .  Peraino was in May after former retired.  on May 31, following the retirement Brad Durant.  In April, the department added , Ryan Ross, Katelin McLaughlin, and Michael Rockoff.
