Choral Art Society of the South Shore Cabaret au Chocolat

The Choral Art Society of the South Shore, now in its 56th season, will present its tenth annual Cabaret au Chocolat. This year get ready to dance down the street to our Dixieland Style celebration on Saturday, March 21st. Our annual cabaret, popular for its entertainment, plentiful and delicious chocolate treats, raffles, and auction, will be held at the Parish Hall of St. Mary of the Nativity Church, One Kent St., Scituate, MA from 7:00-9:30pm. Come for the chocolate, wine, and other refreshments and Dixieland and New Orleans jazz from the Wolverines Jazz Band. “Since 1995 the Wolverine Jazz Band has been entertaining lovers of Traditional Jazz all over Boston and southern New England. In Massachusetts alone, they have raised the roof at the Sherborn Inn, crisped the leaves at sundry Town Green summer concerts, and flaked the varnish on church pews in the Boston suburbs.” There may be a bit of singing, too! Be sure to bid in the silent auction, featuring Red Sox tickets, items from local businesses, themed gift baskets, and many other surprises, from cooking to art to travel.

We are pleased to announce that once again the proceeds from this event help us fund our annual scholarship, awarded to a graduating senior from the South Shore who plans to pursue music as a major in college with a concentration in theory, composition, music management and merchandising, conducting, history, literature, theory, or performance. The opportunity to apply is offered to students from Cohasset, Duxbury, Hingham, Hanover, Hull, Kingston, Marshfield, Norwell, Pembroke, Plymouth, and Scituate. In addition, proceeds help us provide outreach singing to nursing homes and hospitals and help us to produce our wonderful concerts, often accompanied by full orchestra, each season.

Tickets are $25 in advance and are available at Buttonwood Books in Cohasset, online at www.choralartsociety.org, or from chorus members. Tickets are $30 at the door.
