Choral Art Society To Hold St. Patrick's Day Themed Party in Hingham
The fundraiser will feature Irish music, food, and a raffle.
The Choral Art Society of the South Shore will hold a St. Patrick’s Day-themed fundraiser on March 10 to raise money for their scholarships and concerts.
The fundraiser, titled "Celtic Cabaret" will feature a corned beef and cabbage dinner with homemade Irish soda bread, a cash bar, along with live entertainment from Celtic K’s who will perform an Irish Sing Along.
Members of the chorus will also offer stunning musical solos and duets and guests can bid on a variety of silent auction items.

Danica Buckley, Artistic Director and conductor of the Choral Art Society, said a member of the chorus came up with the idea of the event and it grew from there.
“We have some fabulous bakers in the chorus,” Buckley said. “In addition to the entertainment and the dinner, there will be a few raffle/auction items, like a stay in a Florida condo, generously donated by a chorus member.”

Buckley is hoping to raise $5,000 from the St. Patrick’s Day party. This event is an annual scholarship fundraiser which awards a $1,000 scholarship each year to a senior high school student from the South Shore going to major in music in college. The funds raised also support the work of the chorus in its innovative performances and work in nursing homes and other community outreach.
In the past, the choral society has organized a Cabaret au Chocolat since 2005, as a chocolate dessert themed evening, with wine, and entertainment solely by the chorus, raising between $4,000 and $5,000.
Next month's fundraiser will take place from 6:00-10:00 p.m. at the Hingham Sons of Italy on 3A in Hingham.
“We plan to have fun and enjoy a great dinner together and good music and community,” Buckley said.
Tickets are $30 in advance and are available from chorus members, at Buttonwood Books in Cohasset and at The Front Street Bookshop in Scituate. Tickets are also $35 at the door. You can also purchase tickets online at www.choralartsociety.org. For more information call 781-925-6095.
