Clemens Gallery Will See New Light
Hingham's art gallery will see new lights by next month thanks to donations from generous residents, library board members and local artists.

With the help of generous donors, the collected $3,400 to pay for new lights and installation at the Clemens Gallery.
The library started collecting donations after a generous Hingham resident had offered to pay half the cost ($1,700) of the lights and installation if the library could come up with the other half by April.
Since the beginning of the month, the library has successfully collected the additional $1,700 from local residents, artists, and Library Board Members. Library Director Dennis Corcoran said the final $200 just came in last week from two donors.

Corcoran said the installation only takes one day’s work and said the new lights could be placed in the Clemens Gallery by April.
The Library Director said they will be comparable to the lights in the Dolphin Gallery, but they will even be “nicer” and said at night is when residents will most likely notice a big difference.
