The Company Theatre Presents Avenue Q
Hilarious modern musical performed by human actors and felt puppets
The award-winning Company Theatre presents Avenue Q the musical from February 5 through 14, 2016 at The Company Theatre Center for Performing Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell. Avenue Q music and lyrics are by Richard Lopez and Jeff Marx, book by Jeff Whitty, based on an original concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx. The production is directed and choreographed by Kevin Mark Kline, with music direction by Evan Whittfield.
Think Sesame Street for grownups! Avenue Q is a gut-busting and hilarious modern musical performed by part flesh (human) and part felt (puppets) ‘actors’. Set in New York City, the musical tells the story of one puppet’s journey to find his purpose in life after college. Learning life lessons from humans and puppets alike, there’s more fuzz to love in this smart, risqué and full of heart musical. A bit racy, Avenue Q contains adult language and puppet nudity. Not recommended for children or puppets under the age of thirteen. However, if you bring your teenagers, they will think you’re really cool!
Avenue Q is the winner of the Tony “Triple Crown” for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book. After a run lasting more than six years and 2,534 performances, the Broadway production of Avenue Q ranks in the top 25 longest running shows in Broadway history and continues in production worldwide.
