Boston TV icon shares her predictions for winners at the 2015 Oscars® and More

The award-winning Company Theatre Center for the Performing Arts 2015 Special Events series presents A Night of Oscars® Previews with Joyce Kulhawik, on Tuesday, February 17 at 7:30 pm, at The Company Theatre, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell.

Boston television icon Joyce Kulhawik, an integral figure in New England’s cultural landscape, talks candidly about her 30-year career in Boston, the celebrities she has interviewed, and shares her predictions for winners at the 2015 87th Academy Awards, the annual American awards ceremony honoring cinematic achievements in the film industry. Nominees for each major Oscar® category will be discussed, with announcements of Joyce’s expert predictions, including “Best Picture”, “Best Actor and Actress”, “Best Supporting Actor and Actress” and more, just days before the big event airs around the world on Sunday, February 22.

Joyce Kulhawik, best known as the Emmy Award-winning Arts and Entertainment Critic for CBS-Boston (WBZ-TV 1981-2008), is currently lending her expertise as a critic, arts advocate, motivational speaker, and three-time cancer survivor all over New England. Kulhawik is president of the Boston Theater Critics Association, a member of the Boston Society of Film Critics and the Boston Online Film Critics Association. Kulhawik has covered local and national events from Boston and Broadway to Hollywood, reporting live from the Oscars, the Emmys, and the Grammys. Nationally, Kulhawik co-hosted the syndicated movie-review show “Hot Ticket” with Leonard Maltin and was a continuing co-host on “Roger Ebert & The Movies.”

Kulhawik holds an honorary doctorate in communications from her alma mater Simmons College, and has an endowed scholarship in her name at the Berklee College of Music. She received the N.E. Emmy’s 2010 Governor’s Award for her distinguished career, and in 2007 was an inaugural inductee into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame. She also moonwalks and yodels.
