Construction to Begin On Multiple Hingham Roads

The Hingham Department of Public Works plans to repave and reconstruct the entire length of Daley Road, Marsh Road, Grove Avenue and Hayes Road during the week of July 29.

Repaving is expected to begin this week on four Hingham roads, causing delays and detours.


The Hingham Department of Public Works plans to repave and reconstruct areas of  Daley Road, Marsh Road, Grove Avenue, Park Circle, and Hayes Road from July 31 to August 7 .

Cushing street will also be resurfaced on Tuesday at 4 a.m., followed by Central Street and East Street on Wednesday at 4 a.m..

“This work will continue on consecutive days until completion,” the DPW said in a written statement.  “The exact scheduling dates are dependent on weather conditions.  The final resurfacing will take place at a later date, yet to be determined.”

The work may take place during early morning hours to minimize any inconveniences and may cause delays.  On-street parking from 12:00 am to 4:00 pm will not be permitted.

Hingham DPW employee Harry Sylvester said resurfacing for Cushing Street, Central Street and East Street is expected to be finished this week.  The construction on these roads has been delayed due to weather.

Repaving was also been scheduled this month for Minuteman Road, Patriots Way, Volunteer Road, and Flintlock Circle.
