Coronavirus: Hingham Town Meeting, Elections Postponed To June
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Hingham's town meeting and town elections have been postponed until June.
HINGHAM, MA — Hingham has moved the annual town meeting and elections to June due to the coronavirus pandemic. The town moved the meetings in conjunction with Gov. Charlie Baker's declared state of emergency.
The meeting has tentatively been moved from April 27 to June 22. The town election has been moved from May 2 to June 27.
"The selectmen, who have the authority to undertake this action, are scheduled to take this matter up at their meeting next (on Tuesday)," town officials said in a statement. "We are making this announcement now to give citizens as much warning as possible with respect to these important municipal matters. With respect to the town election (as opposed to the town meeting), voting options will include both absentee ballots and early voting, both by mail. We will continue to provide timely updates as soon as we are able."
