Living a holy life is not about perfection, but rather about a lifelong process of seeking God. All of us have been called to holiness and a life in Christ. There are many examples of people who have lived lives of holiness and inspired others. Have you sought holiness? At this retreat we will reflect on finding God in the ordinary circumstances of our own lives. With honesty and humor we will reflect on the challenges, hopes, and joys of our call to holiness and the abundance of God’s grace. Time will be set aside for dialogue, prayer, quiet reflection, and guided meditation. It is in the Second Vatican Council document Lumen Gentium that the call to holiness is discussed and affirmed. “Indeed He sent the Holy Spirit upon all men that He might move them inwardly to love God with their whole heart and their whole soul, with all their mind and all their strength and that they might love each other as Christ loves them.” (Lumen Gentium, 40) Give yourself the gift of time to reflect on holiness, the saints, and God’s grace in our lives.

Dr. Aldona Lingertat is the Director of the Master of Arts in Ministry Program and VP of Administration at the Theological Institute at St. John Seminary, Brighton. Her Ph.D. is from Boston College in the field of Theology and Education. She teaches courses in Adult Faith Formation, Pastoral Care, The Call to Holiness and Evangelization, and Transformative Learning. Dr. Lingertat is a wife and mother of two young adults. The “call to holiness” has been a topic of reflection that has intrigued Aldona throughout her life and has become a topic for her retreats.
