Book Discussion for Parents of College Bound Students
Tuesday, April 10, 2012
6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Join us for a discussion centered around the book, "I'm Going to College, Not You," by Jennifer Delahunty (Dean of Admissions at Kenyon College). This book is a collection of essays written by parents, students, and admissions officers about their experiences navigating through the college admissions process. The discussion will be led by Campus Bound Counselors (www.campusbound.com) and will cover topics and issues including:
- How do we choose the best fit among the schools that accept my child?
- What role should finances play in this decision?
- How should my family prepare to let go as my child moves away from home?
We encourage anyone who will soon be navigating through the college admissions process to join us for this lively and thought-provoking discussion. We hope these discussions will provide a forum to share information with other parents, review strategies for making the big decision, and focus on ways to successfully transition as your child becomes an independent adult. Please RSVP to Jennifer Klemanski, associate director of college counseling, at jklemanski@campusbound.com or (617) 769-0400.
