Tee off to Help At-Risk Children
The Home for Little Wanderers, the nation’s oldest and one of New England’s largest non-profit child and family service agencies, will host its annual Generous Masters Golf Marathon on Monday, June 27, 2011 at Black Rock Country Club, 19 Clubhouse Road, Hingham.
The Home serves children and families living in at-risk circumstances throughout Eastern Massachusetts, touching more than 7,000 lives each year. John Hennessey, Chair of The Home for Little Wanderer’s Generous Masters Committee, hopes that the community will come out to support the event and The Home’s mission – to ensure the healthy behavioral, emotional, social and educational development and physical well-being of children and families living in at-risk circumstances.

“Now in its seventeenth year, the Generous Masters Golf Marathon has raised more than a million dollars in support of The Home’s programs across Eastern Massachusetts, including The Baird Center in Plymouth,” Hennessey said. “Many children who come to The Home have had devastating experiences with abuse and neglect and struggle with emotional and behavioral issues. The Home’s dedicated staff and all of us who are involved with the Golf Marathon are committed to preparing these youth for meaningful and productive futures.”
The Generous Masters Golf Marathon begins with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. followed by two rounds of golf, lunch, a reception and awards ceremony. For registration and sponsorship information, please visit www.thehome.org/gmgolf or contact Jamille Benson at jbenson@thehome.org or 617-927-0682.
