Everything You Need to Know About the 4th of July Road Race
Runners can register this week for the big race.

The Hingham Recreation Commission will host the 53rd annual Hingham Fourth of July Road Race next week.
The race will begin at Hingham Middle School at 7 a.m. on Monday July 4. Runners of all ages are encouraged to run.
The registration fee is $18 through July 3 and $20 the day of the big race between 5:30 am and 6:30 am. Number and T- Shirts can be picked up at the Hingham Recreation Center at 210 Central Street starting today, June 27 until Friday, July 1 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday July 2, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, July 3 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The race is 4.47 miles. The track is runner friendly, downhill-dipped, with a few gradual uphill climbs. Runners will dash down historic Main Street and end under the huge flag to be greeted by an enthusiastic patriotic crowd.
This year, there will be a new start line which will be divided in to 3 sections - less than 7 minutes per mile, between 7-8 minutes per mile, and more than 8 minutes per mile.

The race will include three water stations and EMT services. Restrooms at start area only. Bus transportation will be provided before and after race.
For race safety, there are no pets, strollers, baby joggers, skaters or bikes. Unregistered runners will be ejected from the course.
