Former Hull Selectman Announces Run for Hingham State Senate Seat

Meschino joins Republican and Weymouth Town Council President Patrick O'Connor, Democrat and Hingham Selectman Paul Gannon in the race.

Non-profit executive and former Hull Selectman Joan Meschino has thrown her hat into the race for the recently vacated Plymouth & Norfolk district seat in the state senate.

Meschino joins Republican and Weymouth Town Council President Patrick O’Connor, Democrat and Hingham Selectman Paul Gannon in the race.

“I am excited to announce my candidacy for State Senate. I was born and raised on the South Shore, and I understand how important it is to have an effective advocate and strong voice at the State House. Whether it is creating access to early education and affordable higher educational opportunities, investing in real solutions to the opiate crisis that is ravaging our communities, or taking on the issue of transportation infrastructure, I will always stand up for our residents. You will always be able to count on me to be an independent voice for the South Shore on Beacon Hill,” she said in a release.
