Free Recipe Demonstrations
Kick off the weekend by learning a new recipe so that you can impress your family and friends. At on Thursday at 3 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m. pick up a health recipe. Health Eating Specialist Ocean Waters offers free tips and recipes.
Walk for MS in Boston

Raise money for Multiple Sclerosis this weekend by taking part in the MS Walk on Sunday at the Harvard University Athletic Complex. The benefit walk starts at noon and check-in is at 10:30 a.m. Participants can register at the event. Sunday’s walk offers three and five mile routes, and there are rest stops along the way, supplied with snacks, beverages, and restrooms. All the money raised at the walk provides education, support, advocacy, and research for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater New England Chapter.
Participants are able to join as an individual, through a team, or by creating a team. The minimum fundraising Amount is $25. Sporting Events
If you don’t have tickets to any of the three Red Sox/Yankees games at Fenway Park this weekend there are plenty of games in Hingham. On Friday at 3:30 p.m. the varsity softball team will play Norwell and the boys varsity tennis team will play Scituate at Hingham High School. At 4 p.m. the varsity baseball will play their home opener against Scituate. On Saturday morning, the varsity boys lacrosse team will play Needham at 10 a.m.
Poetry and the Writing
For all you poetry and writing lovers, there will be poetry reading at the on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. In celebration of National Poetry Month, Thayer Academy teacher Aidan Rooney and former director of the South Shore poets Joyce Wilson will read their poetry.
Party on Nantasket Beach
Get out this weekend and party at the Red Parrot on Nantasket Beach. On Friday at 9 p.m the Aldous Collins Band with Bo Thayer and Holy Plow will perform. Downstairs on Friday there will be a live DJ with dancing. On Saturday night Lazy 5 will perform and on Sunday there will be blues on the beach from 5 pm to 9 pm and DJ Karaoke after 9 p.m.
Happy Hour Seafood Selection at Summershack
On Thursday and Fridays from 4-6 p.m. Summershack has $1 oysters in their Bar Area. Get out and experience there full seafood menu which includes jumbo cocktail shrimp for $2.50 each and deep water red crab claws for $3.00 each
