Get Out This Christmas Weekend

Santa Claus is coming to town this weekend.

Shop Local

Get out and shop. These are the last few days before Christmas; Make sure to shop locally at Derby Street Shoppes, in Downtown Hingham or at the Hingham Shipyard.  If you’re cooking or hosting a Christmas party, get out to the Hingham fruit Center, Fresh Market and Whole Foods Market for the best local fresh goods.

Barnes & Noble Book Drive

Get out to Barnes & Noble and  give the gift of reading to children in need during the bookstore’s annual Holiday Book Drive.  Donations are being collected until Jan. 1. Customers simply purchase a book, educational toy or game and once they have paid, give the item to the cashier.  All collected items will be delivered to the Cradles to Crayons based in Brighton. Last year Barnes & Noble, Hingham, donated 2,471 books and this year they are aiming send even more.

Saturday Pats Game

If you don’t have tickets to Sunday’s Patriots game against the Jets, get out this weekend and watch the game at a local bar. This weekend’s game will be Saturday at 1 p.m.  The Snug will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and most bars will also be closing early because of Christmas Eve, so call ahead.

Live Entertainment

Get out Friday and listen to the passions Band with Susan Jeffery perform at Tosca beginning at 8:30 p.m. Passions Band performs in the Caribbean, Miami and now New England.

Meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus

Thursday is the last chance to see Mr. and Mrs. Albert Claus at the Derby Street Shoppes.  You and your kids can take photos with them from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Meet Bruins Players

Get out of Hingham and take the kids to the city Thursday night.  Boston Bruins stars Dennis Seidenberg and Rich Peverley and will be present from 4:00 to 6 p.m. Thursday night to sign autographs at Steriti Rink on Commercial Street in the North End.  The rink is also offering a free public skate from 4 to 6 p.m. and offers $5 skate rentals.

Christmas Mass
