Get Out This Weekend: Jan. 13-16

Live music, a high school basketball game, a Howie Carr book signing and a Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration all highlight this weekend's events in and around Hingham.

Meet Howie Carr

Get out this Saturday at 5 p.m. and meet WRKO radio host and Boston Herald columnist Howie Carr at Carr will be signing copies of his new book "Hard Knocks,"  which is about a dodgy ex-Boston cop trying to make ends meet as a private investigator. When a client is killed, execution-style, the cop finds himself in a whole world of pain.

when he signed copies of his other popular book, “Hitman.”  If Saturday’s book signing is anything like Carr’s last one, expect a long line.

Live Entertainment at Tosca

Get out and enjoy live music during dinner at Tosca.   On Friday night, Jeff Williams Trio will perform and on Saturday night pianist Geoff Hicks will bring his musical talents to the Wine Room. Both performances begin at 8 p.m.

Get out for some live music at the Erin's Guild will perform Friday evening at 9 p.m. and Boston Accent will be performing on Saturday night at 7 p.m.

Get out for some local sports games.  boys varsity team will play Hanover at the Hingham gym on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to show up and wear red.

Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration

Get out and honor the life of Martin Luther King Jr. this weekend.  There will be a celebration breakfast in his honor on Monday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Germantown Neighborhood Center in Quincy on 366 Palmer Street.
