A summer picnic, gardening tips, and a Naval Display all in Hingham this weekend.

Summer Solstice Celebration
Get out Thursday night and celebrate the start of summer. The community is invited to celebrate the first day of summer from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with one giant picnic at World’s End. Admission to park your vehicle costs $15 for members of the Trustees of Reservations and $20 for non-members. The celebration will include live music and ice cream along with giant picnic.
Naval Ammunition Depot Memorabilia Display
Get out Thursday and head to the Naval Ammunition Depot Memorabilia Display at the Bare Cove Park Dock House, which will be open to the public from 5 to 7 p.m. The Depot was active during the First World War, WW II and the Korean Conflict. Guests will be invited in for free to see photographs and uniforms, maps, soda and milk bottles, tools, bullet shells, a shoe, gunpowder used in cannons, a gas mask, horseshoes and other items belonging to Depot workers.

Flashbulb Memories
Get out this weekend as Hingham resident Dan Rider will be showing his new play at Derby Academy’s Larson Hall Theater Thursday night at 7 p.m. Admission for this show is free. The play, "Flashbulb Memories," is about a man who can remember only three things. Outside of that, his mind is a blank and he can't keep new memories in his head.

New Middle School Ground-Breaking Ceremony
Get out Friday morning and attend a ground-breaking ceremony for the start of the construction of the new Hingham Middle School. The ground-breaking ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m.
Story Time
Get out Friday at 10:30 a.m. as there will be a story hour at Barnes & Noble. Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes by Eric Litwin will be read.
Gardening Tips
Get out and garden. On Saturday, June 23 from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. at the Serenity Garden behind the Barnes & Noble, b.Good along with REI, the South Shore Natural Science Center, Green City Growers will offer gardening tips to Derby Street Shoppers. Customers will also learn how to grow vegetables and healthy eating habits.
Farmers Market
Get out for the Hingham Farmers Market this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bathing Beach Parking area.
