Glastonbury Abbey Celebrates Open House With Free Chowder, Ice Cream, and Fun
Everyone is welcome to attend the Glastonbury Abbey open house celebration.

The monks of Glastonbury Abbey in Hingham invite anyone and everyone to celebrate autumn with a fun-filled day on their beautiful grounds at 16 Hull Street (Route 228, just across Route 3-A), on Saturday, September 29.
The first-time ever event will feature chowder and ice cream donated by top area eateries, hot dogs supplied by Frankie the Hot Dog King, rock’n’roll music by local legend Dave Foley, tours of the extensive gardens, hay rides throughout the grounds, walks through the Abbey’s one-of-a-kind stone labyrinth, and visits with – and a chance to feed – the monks’ herd of goats.
Brother Daniel Walters, OSB, says, “We are eager to share our beautiful grounds and buildings at our Open House on Saturday, September 29th. We want people to become aware of all the spiritual, educational and cultural events that take place at Glastonbury during the year. We hope this event will make people know that they are always welcome to take part in these events and to make use of our grounds. We look forward to meeting many old and new friends at the Open House.”
