Great Escape: Live Irish Music at the Snug

It’s that time of week again when everyone anxiously awaits the weekend. If you are looking to catch some live Irish entertainment and some great pub food, then head on over to This weekend’s lineup features John Foster playing an acoustic mix on guitar on Friday night at 9:30 p.m., while on Saturday, Erin’s Guild with Jeff Roman will be there for Irish music. The pub offers live music four nights each week and hosts an Irish session on Monday nights.

Located in Hingham Square, The Snug is the best place in town for a perfectly poured pint of Guinness paired up with crispy fish and chips or a bowl of shepherd’s pie. The pub is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some of the Snug's most popular dishes include the country potato skins stuffed with bacon and cheddar cheese, marinated bourbon steak tips, grilled salmon and homemade chicken pot pie.

The music typically doesn’t come on here until 9:30 p.m. so you can make a night out of it by stopping in for dinner first before enjoying the music or just hang out for some fun entertainment. The Snug offers a great selection of microbrews as well from local breweries like Wachusett, Allagash, and Cisco Brewery on Nantucket.

Be sure to come early if you are planning to visit for a European soccer or sporting event as the cozy place can fill to capacity quickly. When you first walk into the intimate neighborhood pub, you will quickly see how it has become a favorite among locals. Best part of all is the fact they are open seven days a week until midnight.
