Healey Wins Hingham Selectman Race By Landslide
The longtime Hingham resident wins by a large margin.

In Tuesday’s Town Election, the people of Hingham voted in a new Selectman, choosing longtime resident Paul Healey by over 2,700 votes.
Healey received 3,562 votes, defeating Carlton “Al” Chambers who only received 847 votes.
"I just want to express my appreciation and thanks to the voters of Hingham for their confidence in me," he said. "I look forward to serving them and the town in the upcoming three years."

The School Committee race for three open seats drew the most voters. Incumbents Ray Estes and Andy Shafter along with new candidate Liza Reed O’Reilly were all winners, edging out Benjamin Burnham. O’Reilly received the most votes with 3,130, Shafter received 2754, Estes received 2,379 and Burnham received 2,068.
Hingham made a clear choice in the Sewer Commission race. Winner Edmund Demko received over 1,200 more votes tahn opponent Thomas Patch.

Hingham voters also elected Sarah Corey to the Planning Board, as she defeated Edward Colbert by 401 votes.
Unopposed candidates who all earned victories on Tuesday were Michael Puzo (moderator), Hal Goldstein (Board of Assessors), Jean Montgomery (Treasurer/Collector), Kirk Shilts (Board of Health), Vicki Donlan (Recreation Commission) and James Watson (Housing Authority).
