
Robert Hedlund was victorious once again on Election Day.
The incumbent State Senator of the Plymouth Norfolk District will now serve a tenth term in office after defeating Norwell Democrat opponent Genevieve Davis by 39 Percent, according to the Boston Globe.
Hedlund received 69 percent of the vote compared to the 31 percent received by Davis.

Hedlund will serve as one of the few Republican State Senators in Massachusetts as he received votes from hundreds of Democrats across the Plymouth Norfolk County. The State Senator said being a Republican is just an "R" attached to his name.
“We hear all of this on class warfare... I’m someone who has lived here my whole life,” Hedlund said. “I’ve been on the same softball team in Hull.. I have a certain connection to the area.”

As of 10 p.m. Tuesday night, Hedlund took each town including Davis’s hometown of Norwell. In Hingham, the former HHS graduate received 68 percent of the vote compared to Davis who only received 26 percent.
The Plymouth Norfolk District includes Weymouth, Cohasset, Duxbury, Hingham, Hull, Marshfield, Norwell and Scituate.
