Hersey House Sale Nears Completion
Early morning Selectmen's meeting has a familiar feel.
The Board of Selectmen on Monday extended the closing date for the sale of the to Thursday, May 19.
In the absence of chairman John Riley, selectman Laura Burns served as chair. While the sale of the property at 229 North Street is going forward, the selectmen agreed to extend the closing from May 18 at 10.15 a.m. to May 19 at 5 p.m.
There will be a “no-build” zone at the front of the property, an area of land that would provide frontage for the back lot and driveways, but would not allow buildings. The zone doesn’t change the current limits of the Hersey House lawn and protects the existing location of the house.
