It’s the best place to watch the sunset in town. It provides the best view of the Boston skyline on the South Shore. It’s a perfect place to picnic, go fishing, hiking and dog walking. Yet, still so many people don’t even know World’s End exists in Hingham.
Just minutes from Nantasket Beach and Hingham Square, World’s End hides at the end of Martin’s Lane. To find this hidden gem, drive south on Route 3A, take a left on Summer Street and at the major intersection with Rockland Street, continue straight across onto Martin’s Lane and follow it until the end.
According to the Trustees of Reservations who preserve the land, what makes World’s End so special is it’s the tree-lined carriage paths and sweeping views of the Boston skyline, only 15 miles away.

Meg Connolly, the Educational Coordinator at the Trustees of Reservation said World’s End is truly a hidden gem.
“A lot of people on the South Shore don’t even know about it,” Connolly said. “It’s a really great place to picnic, relax or read a book. There’s a lot of people who bring their dogs there. It offers unbelievable views of the Boston Harbor. When you go out there it brings and unbelievable sense of peace.”

World’s End is open all year round. The 251-acre coasts cape includes rocky shores, broad hillsides, and open fields with trails and areas of woodlands to hike during all four seasons. The property is truly ideal for walking, picnicking, jogging, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, or simply enjoying nature and the outdoors.
“It is a hidden gem,” said Trustees Park Ranger Anne Engel. “People who live in Hingham, discover it after years. People come here to relax and they treasure it.”
