Hingham Among The Most Irish Towns in State

Hingham has the 14th highest Irish population in the whole state.

Hingham and the South Shore may be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day a little bit louder than the rest of the state.

That’s because Hingham and its neighboring communities are some of the most Irish towns in Massachusetts, according to the 2011 census, which asked respondents about their ancestry.

Hingham is the 14th most Irish town in the Bay State with 33 percent of its population having Irish roots, according to WCVB.com.
