Hingham Baseball Set to Play Milton in State Tourney

Hingham will play Milton today at 4 p.m. at Cronin Field.

Hingham baseball fans are asked to wear red and white to Cronin Field this afternoon as the HHS baseball team will battle Milton in the second round of the State Tournament today at 4 p.m.

Hingham received the third seed and a first round bye in the MIAA South Division 2 State Tournament. Today, sophomore Evan Flanagan will get the start for the (15-5) Harbormen as they begin their quest for a state title.

This season, Hingham has earned notable wins over Quincy, Pembroke, and Scituate.  They swept the season series against North Quincy, Silver Lake, Duxbury and Sandwich, and have recently swept Nauset in a doubleheader.  They split the season series against Whitman-Hanson and lost to Hanover, Middleboro and two schools in Florida: Benjamin and Astronaut.

Hingham has yet to play Milton this season.  On Saturday Milton ace Willie Archibald scattered 6 hits and gave up just one unearned run as 11th seed Milton upset 6th seeded Oliver Ames 3-1 in the first round of the division 2 south sectional baseball tournament.  Milton is (12-11) this season.
