Hingham Baseball Team Sweeps Nauset in Doubleheader

Hingham closes the regular season with a 15-5 record.

The following release was submitted by Hingham High School Athletics:

Senior captain Alex Pompeo made senior day something to remember for the Harbormen pitching six strong innngs while giving up no earned runs and just five hits to pace Hingham to a 6-2 win over Nauset in game 1 of a doubleheader at Cronin Field on Saturday.  

Pompeo, who was making his first ever start on the mound, helped his own cause by driving in two runs.  Fellow senior Tom Costello also drove in two runs.

 In the second game of the doubleheader Sophomore Evan Flanagan pitched six solid innings giving up just one earned run and striking out seven to lift Hingham to the sweep with a 7-2 win.  

Sophomore Stephan White blasted a home run to leadoff the game, part of his three- hit day. Eddie Bowler drove in 2 runs while Austin Murphy and Harry Pershing both drove in a run.  Junior Sean Greene had a 3 hit game with 2 RBI.
