Hingham Businesses Remain Open Despite Watertown Manhunt

While businesses in Boston are closed, Hingham restaurants and stores are operating on a normal schedule.

Hingham businesses have remained opened despite the manhunt in Watertown and Boston Friday morning.

Stars on Hingham Harbor will continue to hold live entertainment on Friday evening. The Smoking Jackets will perform live at their regularly scheduled time of 10 p.m., manager Ethan Herring said.

Herring said the restaurant’s press cook, line cook and dish washers all had trouble getting to work because the MBTA was suspended, but restaurant employees had picked them up.

The Whole Foods Market is one of the stores that will be understaffed because of the manhunt in the Boston area.

“The safety of our team members is a top priority and only those who could safely commute to work will be in the store this morning,” Whole Foods said on their Facebook page.  “We appreciate your patience as we may be understaffed.”
